General Information


Our consultations are managed by appointment only, standard consultation is 15 minutes. We endeavor to ensure all Urgent Cases are fitted in with a Doctor and young children are never turned away.

To book an appointment please phone 9300 0055 and speak to one of our friendly receptionists. Appointments can also be made through Health Engine or by downloading our mobile app ‘Joondalup Drive Medical Centre’ from the Apple or Android store.

Booking a Longer Appointment

Long consultations of 30 minutes are recommended if you want an insurance medical, review of a complex health problem, counselling for emotional difficulties, or a second opinion (please bring relevant letters and test results from other Doctors). Please check with our Receptionists if you are unsure, they will advise appropriate time for your appointment and the applicable fees.

Unable to attend your appointment

Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend so that we can offer your appointment to another patient. If you fail to attend appointments without warning or explanation, we may not be able to offer you a booked appointment in the future. Missed appointments may be charged a fee of $40.00.

After Hours

Our practice has a formal arrangement with Dial a Doctor 1300 030 030 to provide afterhours care to our patients in their homes.


Doctors in this practice are competent at handling all the common health problems. When necessary, they are able to draw on opinion from Specialists, and if need be, refer you for further investigation. If you are wanting a referral, you will need to make an appointment with your Doctor to discuss.

Repeat Prescriptions

You will need to make an appointment with your Doctor for a repeat prescription. This will ensure good medical practice and that our Doctors meet their medico-legal obligations to patients by ensuring prescriptions are appropriate and that there are no risks in taking the medication and your condition is being optimally managed.


Due to patient confidentially, results are not discussed over the telephone. A follow-up appointment must be made with your doctor to discuss test results.

Home Visits

Home visits are offered to our patients that are too ill or lack mobility to attend the practice, if you require your Doctor to make a home visit, please call the Surgery first thing in the morning.

Recall System

You are encouraged to be part of our computerised recall system (blood tests, immunisations, pap smears). Just let your Doctor know. A Nurse will contact you if your Doctor needs to follow up on any results.

Telephoning your Doctor

Most problems are best dealt with in a consultation with your doctor. Our staff are experienced in helping you decide what matters require an appointment, a return phone call from the practice, or urgent advice.

Email Policy

Email is not a secure messaging system and emailing private clinical information is in breach of the Privacy Act and the Policies and Procedures of Joondalup Drive Medical Centre.
Therefore patients, service providers and organisations should never email any clinical information to our doctors or staff.
It should be noted that our doctors DO NOT respond to emails sent from patients. Patients should always phone our reception staff on 9300 0055 and make an appointment with their doctor.
